YouTube Invites you to Cheer for Indian Athletes at the London 2012 Olympics

In a short while from now all the excitement in London will begin. The good news is that YouTube has announced a special treat for all Indian fans and for fans across 63 countries around the globe. YouTube is bringing live coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games on the International Olympic Committee channel. You can watch all the exciting events on http://www.youtube.com/olympics. So, gear up and cheer for your team!

To make the event more exciting a special theme song composed by the renowned composer Shantanu Moitra and lyricist Swanand Kirkire is being launched today. The song is titled “Aap Agar Saath Hain. Tou Jeet Bhi Saath Hai”. To further gather support for our athletes a special YouTube bus will travel all across Punjab and Haryana especially nine cities and hometowns of our athletes. This is a unique opportunity to watch the Olympics live on YouTube and also know a little bit more of our fabulous country.

This is perhaps the first time that a dedicated Olympic feed is being offered and millions of Indians will be able to view this event via 10 high definition live streams. All this is being offered free of cost and viewers can watch it on their laptops, desktops, smartphones, and tablets. In addition to this viewers can also have a look at the content and view highlights in case they have missed any of the live action.

Videos on themes like “Know your stars” and “Know your sport” are also being telecast on YouTube. These include videos of stars like Sandeep Singh – hockey, Heena Sidhu –shooting, Mary Kom – boxing, and several others. This should enlighten all Indians about the various events our athletes are competing in and bring them up to date on the happenings in the London Olympics 2012.

The bus will begin its journey on 26th of July and details of its scheduled appearance in different cities can be found on Google India.
