How did you find us? This is one question you must have come across several times in your life whenever you take online surveys. In fact most online businesses use this question. This question is generally posed to understand how people connect. Many people go on a search engine, visit a website and then make a phone call. This was one reason why Google launched call reporting for AdWords customers. Now Google has decided to expand this feature to AdWords Express customers. This feature will let you measure the offline value by keeping a note of the number of calls your advertisement generates.
How does this work
When you subscribe to call reporting, Google will replace your telephone number in your Google search ad with a toll free number. This toll free number will appear across platforms from desktops to laptops to tablets to smartphones. When customer calls this toll free number the calls will automatically get diverted from the toll free number to your telephone number and this will be reported in your AdWord dashboard. This will allow you to keep a tab of the number of calls that were generated by your advertisement.
If you are convinced about this new development all you have to do is go and change your reporting preferences in the AdWords Express dashboard. Open the interface and click Manage your ads tab. Then tick the call reporting checkbox and you are good to go. Now you can see views, clicks, and the number of calls generated by your ads.
This feature is presently available only to US businesses using AdWords express. In case you are in the US and want to know more about this feature, please visit AdWords Express Help Center.
